- What is TheImageHosting?
TheImageHosting is a free image hosting solution. It can be used to share
pictures with friends, as well as post images on message boards and blogs.
It can also be used to direct link images from your personal website or
online auction. And best of all, it's completely free.
Service :
- Where do I begin?
You can upload your image right on the main page. Click the [Browse...]
button and find an image that you want to upload. Select that image and
press OK/Open. Then press the [Upload] button. After a short while (depending
on your image size), you will see a number of boxes with links to your image.
Depending on your use for the image, select any one of those links.
-
How do I log in?
Click the 'Login' link, which is in the upper right corner of the main page.
On the next page enter your e-mail address and your password. Finally click
the [Login] button.
- Do I have to register in order to use the free service?
You can use the service without a registration. Just upload your pictures
from the main page and remember the links. You will have to keep the URL's
by yourself as there will be no way that you obtain the same URL at a later
moment.
The registration is for your own convenience - if you intend to use many pictures,
you will be able to manage them.
- Does TheImageHosting(TM) allow direct file linking?
Direct linking is allowed in the sense of embedding an image into a message
board, personal webpage, or ebay auction.
- I uploaded an image. Where can I find the URL?
Register
so that TheImageHosting can keep records of your images and give you the
opportunity to manage them by using a simple Control Panel. If already registered,
you can use the [Get Code] button corresponding to the selected image.
- What is the upload limit?
You may upload as many images as you like, as long as each of them is less
than 1024kb in size.
- Which image types am I allowed to upload?
You may upload .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .png image types. You can also upload.swf
(flash) files.
- Will my images be deleted after a given period
of inactivity?
No images will be deleted for inactivity. However, we'd be thankful if
you delete the useles images by yourself and help us keep the service in
top shape.
- Are the images that I upload secure?
Your images are secure. Only those people who know the URL to your image
(namely you or anyone you share it with) will have access to it.
Troubleshooting :
- I am using the URL you gave me to hotlink an image
to a message board (forum), but it shows up as a red x.
What do I do?
Make sure you are using the link which is already in [img] tags for you,
and not any of the other links. The dynamically generated php page will
not parse into [img] tags, so if you try to hotlink to the dynamically
generated php page, your link will not show up.
- When I try to access an image, I get redirected to
your main page. What do I do wrong?
Most likely, it is because you copied the URL incorrectly. It could also
be that the image has been deleted due to violation of upload policy. For
more information concerning upload policies, please take a look at our Terms and
Conditions.
- All my images are too big, how do I compress them?
Check out this guide: Image Compression
Tutorial.
- How do I convert images so that I am able to upload
them?
If you have an image that is not a jpg, jpeg, png, or gif, you can convert
it using the Easy Graphic
Converter or IfranView. This software is extremely easy to use. Please
refer to the Image
Compression Tutorial for the best way to convert images. The image compression
tutorial is best used with photo manipulation software like Adobe
Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro.
- How do I delete an image?
Generally, it is not necessary to delete a picture that you no longer have
use for, or one that you accidentally upload. This is because TheImageHosting
has enough disk space to accomodate your needs, and then some. However,
If your image or any image that you find violates the Terms of
Service, please report it by submitting an email. You will also be able
to delete your own images if you Register
an Account. After you log in to your account, just hit the [Delete]
button corresponding to the selected image.
- I just uploaded an image, but no thumbnail was
generated. Why is that?
TheImageHosting does not generate thumbs for images that are 200x200 pixels
in resolution or less.
